HI All, I have been searching on this and had my team look as well. My Outlook 2016 client has the Skype for Business Plug loaded.
However many others in our organization do not. They are also running Skype For Business on their Windows 10 Pro machines and using their Office 365 logins as we all do for our Outlook as well as our other Office 365 apps. I notice I have Skype for Business 2015, but my plug in says Skype Meeting Add-In for MS Office 2013 (had Office 2013 before I upgraded to Office 2016) They are not able to get any plug ins to work. We would love to have the Skype Plug available to schedule meetings.
Hi dsgslj, From your description, if I understand correctly, in your environment, someone can’t load the Skype for Business plugin in Outlook 2016 client. Before we go future, I would like to get some situation with your help: 1.You said that “They are not able to get any plug ins to work.” Do you mean that they also can’t use other plugins (not only Skype for Business plugin) in Outlook 2016?
2.Could they see these plugins in “COM Add-Ins” or “Disabled Items” window? 3.What is the version of the Office?
The web based skype does work for us, but the managers and execs that prefer to use Outlook rather than Outlook Online would really like to have the Skype for Business Basic plug in available. Start your next meeting faster than ever with the new Web Meeting plugin for Windows and Mac. Get Plugin for OSX 10.6+ Download Now. For OSX 10.6+, Safari 5+, Mozilla Firefox 9+, Google Chrome. Conferencing for Lync and Skype for Business. Get Lync 2010 Plugin. Download Lync 2010 Plugin. Get Lync 2013 and Skype for Business Plugin.
Based on our experience, I would give you the following suggestion first: 1.Please try to remove and re-add the plugin in your Outlook COM Add-ins. You could select the “COM Add-ins” and click “Go”; b. In the window, select the “Skype Meeting Add-in” and click “Remove”; c. Then click “Add”, navigate to “ Microsoft Office Office16” and double-click “UCAddin.dll”; d.
You cloud see the new added plugin, exit and reopen the Outlook client. 2.Please try to check the registry to see if this add-in is correctly configured.
You could refer to the following link for detailed information. If no luck, please try to repair or uninstall/reinstall the Office application. Thanks for your understanding and patience! We are using Office 2016/Outlook 2016 and Skype For Business 2015. The issue is that the Plug in does not show for Skype for Business. When we do a search on the computer we can find a few different UCC.dll files, but when we try to load them into Outlook they say they are not the correct version. We tried the Reg Key fix. I believe the issue is that we just don't have the proper version of the plugin? I would think it would install with the Skype for Business 2015.
The reason my computer has it working is I had Skype for Business 2013 before and that is the plugin that I am using (see the image on the initial post). My co-workers never had Skype for Business 2013 and therefore do not have that plugin. How do we get the Skype for Business 2015 plugin?
Hi dsgslj, Thanks for your reply. According your description, you have installed Office2016, but sitll use Skype for Business 2015 client. I would like to get some information with your help: 1.Could you check the detailed version for the Skype for Business client in 'Help' - 'About Skype for Business'? 2.Do you use the Skype for Business client in Office or install it in another way?
3.As far as I konw, it will install Skype for Business 2016 in Office 2016. Have you updated the Skype for Business client when updating Office? If you use Skype for Business 2015 and try to use the 'UCAddin.dll' in Office 2016, I think it may be the casue for the error version.
As Skype for Business 2015 client is upgraded from Lync 2013 client and will use the 'UCAddin.dll' in Office 2013. (As you mentioned in your client.) So could you please try to add the UCC.dll files by these steps: 1. Check the Skype for Business client install location. If you are using Skype for Business 2015 client, I think it should like '.
Microsoft Office Office15 ' 2.In Outlook, choose the Skype for Business client install location and add the UCC.dll files in it to see if it can work. Thank you for your understanding and patience! Hi dsgslj, Thanks for your reply.
As you installed Skype for Business Basic 2015 client, can you find the “UCAddin.dll” file in its install location? If you find it, you could add this file in the Outlook Add-in.
Another way, I suggest you could try to install the available Skype for Business client in the web page to see if it can work well. Hello Shaw, Yes, for me the Skype For Business Basic 2015 plugin is present and works, I believe because I had Office 2013 std edition installed on my computer prior to removing it and replacing it with Office 2016 std edition. My co-workers that have only had Office 2016 std (most of them) do not see the plug in and cannot load the one that I am using.
The web based skype does work for us, but the managers and execs that prefer to use Outlook rather than Outlook Online would really like to have the Skype for Business Basic plug in available. Hi dsgslj, Thanks for your reply. Do your co-workers also use the same Skype for Business client as you? And could you find the “UCAddin.dll” file in the Skype for Business client install location in your co-worker’s machine? If they can’t see the.dll file in the location, I suggest that they could try to re-install the Skype for Business client. If they use the same version client but could not find the.dll file, you may try to copy your “UCAddin.dll” file to their install location, add the file as add-in in outlook, and see if it can work. If you have Skype for Business but are missing the 'New Skype Meeting' button in the 'Calendar' section of Outlook, you may have the 'Skype Meeting Add-in for Microsoft Office 2013' COM Add-In disabled. To check this and re-enable the Add-In in Outlook:.
Click File to access the Backstage view of Office. Click Options.
In the Outlook Options window, choose Add-Ins from the column on the left. Make sure 'COM Add-ins' is selected in the drop down menu next to 'Manage:' at the bottom of the window.
Click the 'Go.' Button. In the 'COM Add-Ins' window find the 'Skype Meeting Add-in for Microsoft Office 2013' option and make sure the box for that option has a check in it.
Click OK. The 'New Skype Meeting' button will now be an option in the 'Calendar' section of Outlook.
